A new season. A new challenge. Belgium is ready to compete!

The 2026–2027 Pandanet European Team Championship kicks off this month, and Belgium is gearing up for another exciting campaign against some of Europe's strongest Go teams.

After securing its place in League B last season, Belgium returns determined to build on that success.

Nine players will represent Belgium this season, bringing experience, talent, and fighting spirit to the board.

Chinese Yu Fu (8-d) 2026 Amateur World champion (WAGC version); Bram Vandenbon 5/8 ends 18th out of 52 participants

Not quite totally unexpectfully, the Chinese player, Yu Fu (8-d), is the 2026 world amateur champion in the WAGC. He ended unbeaten (8/8).

Silver medail goes to Japanese Hyo Ka (7-d) with 7/8.

And bronze medail goes to ...an European player ! Lukas Podpera (CZ, 7-d), as best player with 6 wins. Congratulations to him !

Note the surprinsingly desappointing result of the Korean player, Hyeon Seok Kim, who ends 8th with a 5-3 score.

Our guy this year was Bram Vandenbon (2-d). He did great with (also) 5 wins and 3 defeats (*) and an admirable 18th place out of a field of 52 participants.
(wins against: india (1-k), australia (3-d !), mexico (3-k), austria (3-d !), sweden (2-d); defeats to: canada (7-d), argentina (4-d), UK (4-d)

Join Team Belgium for the 2026–2027 Pandanet European Team Championship!

It’s that time of year again! A new season of the Pandanet European Team Championship is about to begin, and we’re looking for players to represent Belgium!

Whether you’ve played for the Belgian team before or would like to take part for the first time, you’re very welcome to join. It’s a great opportunity to play serious games, meet players from across Europe and, of course, defend the Belgian colours!

Registration deadline: September 29th
Belgium will once again compete in League B
Games are played online on Pandanet

Who can join?

Players must have Belgian nationality and a Pandanet account.

Don’t have an account yet? You can create one here.

Due to the anti-cheating regulations in League B, participants are also required to join a face-to-face video call during their games. You can find more information about this requirement here.

Dear members and Go enthusiasts,

As our game and Federation evolves, to serve you better we are thrilled to give you an exclusive first look at the prototype of our future website !

Developing a new site has been a long saga spanning more than ten years, and sadly it's not the first time that we made such kind of announcement only to disappoint shortly after.
This time, however, it looks very likely to have good chances to cross the finish line thanks to one of our players with alias “Rikikilord” who you maybe know about already. :)

This project is designed to be modern, even futuristic thanks to AI usage with advanced features, above all—better suited to your gaming needs whenever you are a curious passer-by or a Go expert in search of detailed information.
You are of course welcome to get the chance to browse and explore its features.
Warning: Many features can be tried and tested, but pages content is far from being ready

Andrii Kravets (UKR, 3-p), European champion 2026

Andreii Kravets (UKR, 3-p) wins his 3rd European title (2023-2024-2026) in Ankara, where the European Congress was organised this year.

He won against Ali Jabarin (3-p) in final (poor Ali lost in final of the European Championship for the 5th time !).

Mateusz Surma (PL, 4-p), last year's winner, had lost surprisingly in 1/4 of final against Denis Dobranis (RO, 6-d).

In the main tournament (open), some strong Korean and Chinese 7-d amateurs have dominated as usual (1st European player ended 7th with a 6/10 score).
Unbeaten winner is Korean Ahn Yonho, with the perfect score of 10 wins in 10 rounds.
