Belgian Go Federation

Rengo is a Go variant played by teams of 2 players who plays alternatively.

Participation in this tournament is free, but participants have to be members of the Belgian Go Federation and register as teams of 2 players.
1st prize: the eternal glory of being Belgian Rengo Champion ! :)

When ?

Sunday 22nd November 2026
First round will start between 10:00 and 12:00, according to the number of registered teams.

Rules

Depending on the number of teams, main time will be between 45 and 60 minutes according to the number of teams, followed by Canadian Byo-yomi 15 stones / 5 mn.

We will play with handicap -2. The rating of each pair is calculated as the average of the rating of the two players.

Qualification

There are no gender restrictions for team players.
However, only the mixed pairs where both players have Belgian nationality can qualify to be (potentially) the Belgian delegation to the International Pair Go Championship.

The building is a 18th century farm-manor house that can host up to 50 people and is located at the heart of the Ourthe Valley in the Ardennes.

To go there it's only 20 mn travel in train from Liège and 5 mn walk from the Tilff railroad station.

WHO ?
We are thrilled to welcome back a familiar face, 2015 Belgian Champion Thomas Connor (4D) of the Hoshi Go Club, as our head instructor !
Assisting him will be one or two other experienced dan players.

WHAT
The lessons will be in English.
No level restriction, but a "club" level above 20 kyu is advisable to fully benefit from the teachings. :)
