10th round of the European team Championship: Belgium - Slovakia 3-1

On 28th April, by beating Slovakia, a direct opponent, Belgium is sure to stay in B-league next year: it remains only one round to play and "we" have now enough points to avoid relegation.

This time, the team was composed by Jan, Thomas, Nelis and Gabriel.
Not quite unexpectfully, Jan lost against Pavol LISY ( 1-p !)...but fortunately the 3 other Slovakian players were by far weaker :-)!

Detailled result of the 10th round:

After 10 of the 11 rounds, Belgium is 9th (out of 12 teams).

Schikchin beat in final the other new (2015) pro: Mateusz Surma. It was a fantastic game, in which he showed all his talents (find here the commented game by video: https://gogameguru.com/).

He confirms his n°1 status of European-born players !

A selection tourmament, reserved to the top European amateur players, had been organised so as to select 8 players, to join the 4 new European pros for this Grand Slam tournament.

Here are the complete results:

Note: 3 of the 4 European-made pros played the semi-finals (Pavol Lisy was surprisingly eliminated by Cristian Pop in quater finals)
(another surprise was the defeat of Catalin Taranu, a japanese made pro, in the 1st round)
